LOVE sewing but not cutting out the fabric

So, I'm teaching myself to sew and am enjoying it very much...well, that is except for the part where I have to cut out the fabric pattern. O.K. and the part where the 'disappearing ink' (yeah, right) tracing pen squirts on my red shirt and stains it! It is disappearing ink that has ruined my top by remaining, grrr.

I've been enjoying the community of sewers and pattern sellers at etsy, U-handblog, Keyka-Lou Patterns, Pink Chalk Studio and all of the rest of the blogs that I follow. So many generous people have made tutorials for those of us who need the extra visual in order to teach ourselves with more confidence. I would love to offer some expertise, but at this point I am on the steep part of the learning curve, and am fit only to advise the most basic of sewers (Or sewer-wanna-beez). Welcome one and all!

Hopefully, I can share with those beginners as I learn. I will post pics of my goodies as I sew them up and as I hopefully place them up for sale at WearEarthWell.etsy.com
I will list links to sites that I love as I learn how 'blogging' works. Talk to you soon!

    Congrats on your sewing endeavours! I find I always have to remind myself to do things properly and not cut corners - part of my brain says "only you're wearing it so only you'll know" but another says "stop being so damn lazy"

    I'm sure you already know this, but Wardrobe Refashion is a godsend for sewing types looking for ideas and tutorials :)

    congrats on your new interest :) you will find it to be the most relaxing and fun thing to do hahahaha (except ripping of your seams!!!). Try one of those sewline fabric pencil...I find them to be one of the most wonderful invention :)... the leads are thick enough and easy to draw...the fabric glue is also excellent! Have fun crafting! :)

    Thanks Lia :D I will have to find one of those pencils--they sound wonderful! I discovered the wonderful fabric/metal glue for little kiss lock purses and love that. I have just started up sewing again after a long break and made a few simple things--hopefully hubby can photo for me and I'll post soon.
